From 1 January 2025, according to the amendments to the regulations, new provisions will come into force that affect the minimum wage amounts in the Republic of Croatia. These changes are regulated by the publication of the Regulation on the amount of the minimum wage for 2025 in the Official Gazette No. 124/24, and the key changes relate to the amount of the minimum gross wage and the minimum salary of directors (employed members of the management board).

Minimum wage for 2025

For the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025., the minimum gross wage in the Republic of Croatia will be EUR 970.00. This increase represents a continuation of the trend of increasing minimum wages in order to ensure greater financial security for workers.

Minimum salary of an employed member of the management board/director

According to the provisions of the Contributions Act, from January 1, 2025, the minimum gross salary for directors, i.e. employed members of the management board, must be at least EUR 1,168.70 per month.

This amount is calculated on the basis of the average monthly gross salary of employees in legal entities of the Republic of Croatia for the period January – August 2024, which amounted to EUR 1,798.00 (published in the Official Gazette No. 124/24). In accordance with the Contributions Act, the minimum gross salary of directors is set at 65% of the average gross salary in legal entities.

The importance of complying with the new regulations

Employers and members of the management board should adjust the amounts of agreed salaries in a timely manner in order to comply with the new legal provisions and avoid possible sanctions for non-compliance with minimum wage regulations.
